That Didn't Quite Make The Great American Songbook

Why try and cover The Great American Songbook when Ella, Frank, Billie, Sarah, and the rest of that gang have set the bar so high?
Seriously, why?...
This site features The Pretty Good American Songbook where you'll find a collection of songs from the 1920’s through 1950’s - give or take a decade or two - that are fun, funny, sweet, and insightful, and often full of double meanings proving once and for all that our parents and grandparents - and great-grandparents! - were up to just as much hanky-panky as the rest of us.
What You'll Find
Songs on the Songs page (smart, right?) that link over to YouTube where you'll find an inexpertly curated collection/playlist of new (starting with me! Again, that’s just the way it works) and vintage performances that hopefully demonstrate why each song deserves a place in this particular Songbook.
Warning! I sometimes change words and add verses, you know, because I can. You should too. It's fun!
The Stuff page includes other things I hope you'll enjoy: YouTube playlists of favorite radio stations to stream, music, comedy, movie, dance, and other miscellaneous vintage videos. Pretty much whatever I feel like including, which is why it's called Stuff.
Feeling brave? Want to join the party and learn a song or two or all? There's a page under Stuff with links to download painstakingly transcribed lyrics and chords.
The Contact page. Please tell me I don't need to explain what you'll find on the Contact page.
Feel free to submit suggestions on the Contact page and I'll use my position as Self-Appointed Curator of the Pretty Good American Songbook to decide whether to embrace or ignore your insightful and valued suggestions.
Email List: Sign up at the bottom of the Contact page.
YouTube Channel: Click the bottom of the page and Subscribe to the channel. Be sure to click (ring?) the bell that appears after subscribing if you want alerts when new videos are added. You'll thank me later. Or maybe you wont. It's up to you…
Facebook Page: I have one. Like it if you like it.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not a web designer or professional YouTuber (which sounds like some sort of mutant potato) or an amazing singer/ukulele player, so be nice!
This site is simply my way of sharing an inexplicably weird obsession with old music and stuff, first with my grandkids (look to the right and up a bit if you're on a desktop, scroll down if on mobile - so cute!) and second with anyone else who wants to come along for the ride.
Let the Pretty Good fun begin!
